Stop Hindi Imposition
This is the "Silent Revolution" going on in Bengaluru now.
In just the last 5 days, I came across several stickers (on vehicles) and posters (in shops) appealing to those who have been in Karnataka for a long time or planning to settle down in Karnataka, to give a try to learn some basic Kannada so that they need not remain as "guests forever". The top-left poster was in a popular jewelry store (Avenue Road, Bengaluru). And the blue colored stickers are distributed for free at an auto stand near Chikpete. Also, some of these auto drivers have a stock of tiny booklets titled "Learn Kannada in 1 hour" which they give away to their customers for free of cost. One of the common complaints has been that even if someone is interested in learning Kannada, there is nobody to teach them. Hence, several enthusiastic Kannadigas are sparing some time from their busy schedules, to prepare simple tutorials to teach Kannada through simple & easy chapters.
