In shocking admission, US based Prometric Testings says its software was hacked
In a big revelation, the US-based company that conducted the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) has admitted to Delhi Police that their software “can be breached”.
Police said that the “agents and sub-agents” were searching students through the year who are ready to pay money for a good rank.
The Indian Express reported. The crime branch in its 20-page charge sheet also stated that the hacking was planned way in advance it went even to the extent of telling students which examination center they should opt for so that they could cheat, the report added.
The supervisors of two examination centers in Greater Noida and Chandigarh and where the exam was held, helped some students to cheat.
Further investigating the matter, police also found that the National Board of Examination (NBE), the exam-controlling body had given the contract to conduct NEET PG (2017) to M/S Prometric Testings Pvt Ltd.
They had sub-contracted with C.M.S IT Services Pvt Ltd to hire engineers, site supervisors and other staff to prepare exam labs and for actually conducting the NEET (PG) examinations at various exam centers from December 5 to December 13.
Later, CMS IT Services Pvt Ltd had further tied up with M/S Apex Services to provide manpower and technical staff at the examination centers

After finding candidates, the sub-agents contact their senior agents, who had direct links either with the candidates or their parents. The police also said that the agents were in constant touch with site supervisors, engineers and officials, who were posted at examination centers.
Police, in their charge sheet stated that M/S Prometric Testings Pvt Ltd failed to identify the software, Ammyy Admin, used to hack the exam. The persons had managed to break open the security system of Prometric, that their selected students had the access of internet, unlike other students, which helped them to connect remotely to some other computer outside the examination hall, the report added.
Delhi Police is now planning to seek the court’s permission to conduct lie detector tests, as per nyoooz.com. Police have so far identified 30 doctors, and “sought permission for their arrest from the joint commissioner of police (crime)” “Some of the doctors did not cooperate when they were called for questioning,” the report said.
