கடந்த 25 ஆண்டுகளில் உயர்கல்விக் கூடங்களில் தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்ட தலித்
மாணவர்களின் பட்டியல் கீழே தரப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஐஐடிகளில் தற்கொலை
செய்துகொள்பவர்களில் 90% பேர் தலித் பழங்குடியின மாணவர்கள் என
தெரியவந்துள்ளது. கீழே கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் பட்டியல், பதிவு
செய்யப்பட்டவை மட்டுமே. ஐஐடிகளில் மாணவர்களின் தற்கொலை விகிதம் 18% சதவீதம்
வருடாவருடம் அதிகரிக்கிறது. ஹைதராபாத் பல்கலையில் மட்டும் எட்டு மாணவர்கள்
தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். கடந்த ஐந்தாண்டுகளில் (2010-15) ஐஐடி
சென்னையில் 10 மாணவர் இறந்திருக்கிறார்கள். இதே காலக்கட்டத்தில் ஐஐடி
கான்பூரில் 8 தற்கொலைகள் நிகழ்ந்ததாக பதிவாகியுள்ளது.
