70,000 எஞ்சினியரிங் இடங்கள் காலி ? 70,000 Engineering Seats Remain Vacant In Tamil Nadu


All the students who are applying for the admissions for the B.Tech/BE in the Tamil Nadu state Anna University are hereby informed that this year at least 70,000 Engineering seats remain vacant. This is the largest number of seats falling vacant in the history of the single window counselling for government quota seats.
The officials of Anna University said that, the main reason for the vacant seats is that this year the private Engineering colleges have surrendered more seats including  from the management quota as they were unable to attract the students.
41,176 students were allotted the seats on July 2nd, at the end of counselling. Above 10,316 students dint attend to the counselling. The other 137 students have attend the counselling but they failed to get the preferred choice of college and courses. So many seats have to be filled. 1,55,137 seats including 25 seats in Anna University, 2,359 seats in Anna University constituent colleges and regional centres, 1,52,283 seats in self financing colleges, 470 seats in government and government-aided colleges.
