Jaffna TC upgraded to Technological University
யாழ் தொழில் நுட்ப கல்லூரி தொழில் நுட்ப பல்கலைக்கழக அந்தஸ்த்தை விரைவில் பெறுகிறது. பயிற்ச்சி நெருக்கல் விரைவில் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட உள்ளதாக உதவி அத்தியட்சகர் (Training Institute Assistant Director D.V.T.Y. குலதுங்க) தெரிவித்தார்.
இதற்கான ரூபாய் 233 மில்லியன் உதவி ஒப்பந்தம் ஒன்று கொரியா அரசு நிறுவனத்துடன் கைச்சிடப்பட்டது.
முதல் கட்டமாக நாற்பது மாணவர்கள் தெரிவு செய்யப்படுவார்கள் என்று திரு குலதுங்க அவர்கள் தெரிவித்தார்.
The Jaffna Technical College managed by the Technical Education Department has been upgraded as a Technological University by the Vocational and Technical Training Institute.
The academic activities will be started at the Jaffna Technological University soon, Vocational and Technical Training Institute Assistant Director D.V.T.Y. Kulathunga said.
The Government of the Republic of Korea and Korean International Cooperation Academy (KOICA) granted Rs. 233 million worth technical and financial assistance to the University under an MoU signed with the Government. The University has been upgraded into a sophisticated technical university with the Korean technical knowhow, he said.
The University will hold lectures on Construction and Motor Mechanic and they will be held as certificate and diploma level.
Kulathunga said around 40 students will be recruited per one course. The University was upgraded as a pledge to enhance the technical education of the country as promised by the Mahinda Chintana. Those who fail to receive higher education can follow slandered technical education through this university. Students will be educated up to diploma level for which there is a great demand in the job market, he said.
There are around nine technical colleges in the island. This will be the tenth college of this type. All other technical colleges have already started academic activities. Kandy, Badulla, Rathnapura, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura and Ampara are the other places where technical colleges have been established.
