ராதா மனோகர் : திரு வீரசிங்கம் ஆனந்தசங்கரி (முன்னாள் எம்பி)  அவர்களுக்கு 2006 ஆண்டுக்கான  உலக சமாதானம் வன்முறை தவிர்ப்பு ஆகியவற்றிற்காக யுனெஸ்கோ பரிசு கொடுத்து கௌரவப்படுத்திய நிகழ்வு நடந்தது.
புலிகளுக்கு எதிராக அவர் மேற்கொண்ட தொடர் சமாதான முயற்சிக்கு இந்த கௌரவம் அளிக்கப்பட்டது!
பல தடைவைகள் திரு ஆனந்த சங்கரி அவர்களை  தேடி எம்பி அமைச்சர் மற்றும் ஆளுநர் பதவிகள் வந்தன.
அவற்றை அவர் ஏற்கவில்லை!
பதவிக்காக எந்த தூரமும் செல்ல தயாராக இருக்கும் இன்றைய தமிழ் அரசியல்வாதிகள் மத்தியில் திரு ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்கள் தனித்துவமாகத்தான் தெரிகிறார்
புலிகளின் ஹிட் லிஸ்டில் அவர் இருந்ததால் ஏனையோரின் தாராளமான விமர்சனங்களை இப்போதும் கூட அவர் எதிர்கொள்கிறார்.
ஆபத்தில்லாத இடத்தில தாராளமாக கோபமும் விமர்சனமும் வரும்தானே?

உதாரணமாக இன்று ரணில் விக்கிரமசிங்காவை வகை தொகை இன்றி சாடுவோர் தப்பி தவறியும் ராஜபக்சக்களை நோக்கி சுண்டு விரலையும் ஆசைப்பதில்லை..

எம்ஜியார் ஜெயலலிதா என்ற பெயர்களே உச்சரிக்க பயப்படுவோர்க்ள தாராளமாக கலைஞர் பெயருக்கு சேறு வாரி வீசுவார்கள்)
இப்போது கனடிய அமைச்சராக பதவி ஏற்றிருக்கும் ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களின் மகன்  திரு கரி ஆனந்த சங்கரி அவர்கள் தாராளமாக விமர்சனத்திற்கு உட்பட்டவர்தான்!

ஆனால்,
 1983 இல்  அகதியாக வந்து சேர்ந்த  நாட்டின் நீதி அமைச்சராகவும் அந்நாட்டின் சட்டமா அதிபராகவும் இன்று உயர்ந்திருப்பது நிச்சயம் பாராட்டுக்கு உரியதுதான்!

திரு ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களின் குடும்ப அங்கத்தவர்கள் பலர் புலிகளால் வேட்டை ஆடப்பட்டு காணாமல் போனவர்கள்தான்!

V. Anandasangaree, winner of the 2006 UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence
12-09-2006 4:00 pm The Director-General of UNESCO, Koïchiro Matsuura has designated President of the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) Veerasingham Anandasangaree as the laureate of the 2006 UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence. The Prize was attributed on the recommendation of an international jury. The members of the jury are: Andrés Pastrana Arango, former President of Colombia; Bahia Hariri, President of the Commission for Education, Science and Culture of the Lebanese Parliament; Inder Kumar Gujral, former Prime Minister of India; Sergei Markarov and Manu Dibango, both UNESCO Artists for Peace.

Born in Sri Lanka in 1933, Mr Anandasangaree became the President of the Tamil United Liberation Front in 2002, after working as a teacher and lawyer. As an indefatigable advocate of democracy and peaceful conflict resolution, he has contributed to raising awareness of the Tamil cause in a spirit of dialogue, while seeking to promote non-violent solutions to Sri Lanka and opposing terrorism.

The $100,000 UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize was created in 1995 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the birth of the Mahatma Gandhi, thanks to the generosity of the Indian writer and diplomat Madanjeet Singh, who is also a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.

Dedicated to advancing the spirit of tolerance in the arts, education, culture, science and communication, the Prize is awarded every two years to an individual or an institution for exceptional contributions in the promotion of tolerance and non-violence.

In 2004, the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence was attributed to the Bangladeshi writer and journalist Taslima Nasreen.

The Prize-giving ceremony will be held on International Day for Tolerance celebrated every year on 16 November.
