நடிகை ருக்மணி தேவி - சிங்கள திரையுலகின் டெய்சி ராசம்மா டேனியல்ஸ் (ருக்மணி தேவி) நுவரெலியா,

Pathmanathan Mahadevah :  டெய்சி ராசம்மா டேனியல்ஸ் (ருக்மணி தேவி) நுவரெலியா, ரம்பொட கிராமத்தில் 1923 ஜனவரி 15 அன்று கொழும்புச் செட்டி கிறிஸ்தவ குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்தார்.  ஐந்து பெண்களில் இரண்டாவது பெண், டெய்சியின் தந்தை ஜான் டேனியல் ஒரு தோட்டக்காரர், மற்றும் அவரது தாயார் பெலன் ரோஸ் ஒரு ஆசிரியராக இருந்தார்.
 அவர் நடித்த படங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை எண்பத்து நான்கு.  ருக்மணி தனது கணவர் எடி ஜெயமான்னவுடன் இணைந்து நடித்த படங்களில் “கெளஹ ஹண்ட” ரசிகர்களிடம் பலத்த வரவேற்பைப் பெற்ற படமாக அறியலாம்.  சீரியலதா (குஸ்டினா அல்லது ஸ்ரீலதா), தெய்வ யோகா (ஷீலா தாஸ்கோன், பெமிலா பிசாவா), கணவன் மனைவி தெய்வம் (சந்திரா), ஸ்பிரிட் அபோவ் (எமிலி) மற்றும் காட் வேர் ஆர் யூ (மரியா) ஆகியவை வேறு சில பிரபலமான படங்கள்.  மேலும் அவர் பிரேமாவாக நடித்த “நலகனன” திரைப்படம் இலங்கை கலாசாரத்திற்கு ஏற்றாற்போல் அவரது உடை கவர்ச்சியாக இருப்பதாகக் கருதி, தணிக்கை செய்யப்பட்டது.

 ருக்மணி தேவி திரைப்படங்களில் சிறந்த நடிப்பிற்காக "தீபாஷிகா" விருதுகளில் நடிகையின் ராணி விருதுடன் கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டார், விருதைப் பெறும் முதல் நடிகை என்ற பெருமையைப் பெற்றார்.  ஒரு சர்வதேச திரைப்பட இதழான இந்தியாவின் "ஃபிலிம்பேர்" இதழ், முதல் பக்கத்தை அலங்கரிக்க அவரது புகைப்படத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துகிறது.  அந்த இதழின் புகைப்படத்தில் வந்துள்ள ஒரே இலங்கை நடிகை ருக்மணி.
  இலங்கைத் திரையுலகின் முதல் திரைப்பட நடிகையாக முடிசூட்டப்பட்டு அவர் திகழ்ந்தார்...

Sinhala Sindu  :  Daisy Rasamma Daniels (Rukmani Devi) was born in a Vetty Christian family in Colombo on 15th January 1923 in the village named Ramboda, Nuwara Eliya. Daisy's father named John Daniel, the second of the family of a family consisting of five girls, was a planter and her mother Pelon Rose teacher.
The number of movies she played in is about eighteen four. Among the movies starring Rukmani with her husband Eddie Jayamanna, “Black Moon” may be known as a tight-hugged film by audience. Siriyalatha (Gustina aka Sriyalatha), Divine Yoga (Sheila Daskon, Pemila Bisawa), God of Husband Wife (Chandra), Upper Spirit (Emily) and God Where Are You (Maria). Also the movie "Nabsana" starring the character named Prema is being banned saying her dress is contained to Sri Lankan culture.

Rukh Mani Devi is being awarded the Queen of Actress at the "Deepashika" Awards for her outstanding film performance. Using her photo to decorate the front page of the magazine "Film Fair", an international film magazine. Sri Lankan actress Rukmani is the only one who appeared in a photo in that magazine.
