Residents of the eastern village of Çavuştepe, near the border with Iran, held posters of the president-elect streaked with blood that read “You are one of us” and We love you.” Resident Abdulkerim Kulaz told the paper that Obama’s victory over his Republican rival John McCain was "proof of an end to racism in the world."
On the other side of the Muslim world Mauritanian twins born on the eve of the election were named after the two presidential hopefuls, according to Mauritania’s daily Alakhbar.
The paper reported that Tanja Nan was inspired to name her newborns after the candidates in hopes that they achieve similar “greatness.” The paper added that the twins real names are Hassan and Houssein but that Obama and John will be used in daily affairs.

dancing, though, with reports that Obama relatives danced in the streets
of his grandmother’s village of Kogelo singing his praises in the wake
of his victory. His half-brother told World Bulletin last week that he
planned to roast a bull in celebration the win.
