சென்னை: திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர் ஏவி.மெய்யப்ப செட்டியாரின் மூத்த மகன் ஏவி.எம்.முருகன் (77). சென்னையில் இன்று காலை மரணம் அடைந்தார். A V M Murugan, a family member of the famous AVM Group with interests in films, music was found dead at his friend's house in Krishnanagar, Maduravoyal. He was 77.
His son Karthik Meyappan lodged a complaint with the Maduravoyal police that the family received a phone call from the family of his friend Vinayagam, 53, that Murugan had died of heart attack. Police said Murugan has been staying with Vinayagam for the past three days. Police quoted Vinayagam as saying that when he went to wake up Murugan on Monday morning, he was found dead. Police have registered a case of suspicious death and are awaiting the postmortem report to proceed with investigations.
The body was later handed over to the family. A V M Murugan was the eldest son of A V Meyyappa Chettiar. His body will be brought to AVM studios at 8am on Tuesday for the public and the film fraternity to pay their last respects.

தமிழ் திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சங்கத்தை நிறுவிய முக்தா சீனிவாசன் உள்ளிட்ட 6 பேர்களில் முருகன் ஒருவர். முக்தா சீனிவாசன் கூறும்போது, ‘உடல் நலமில்லாமல் இருந்து வந்தார் முருகன். தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சங்கம் உள்ளிட்ட இன்னும் சில சங்கங்களில் நடக்கும் தேர்தல்களில் தேர்தல் அதிகாரியாக பணியாற்றி இருக்கிறார். இவர் தெலுங்கு படம் இயக்கி உள்ளார். சில படங்கள் தயாரித்தும் இருக்கிறார் என்றார்.
