இஸ்லாமாபாத்: பாகிஸ்தானில் தந்தையொருவர் தனது 6 பெண் பிள்ளைகளையும் சுட்டுக் கொன்றுள்ளார்.
பாகிஸ்தான் பஞ்சாப் பகுதியில் வசிப்பவரான அரிப் முபாசீர் என்பவர் தனது மகள்களில் இருவர் அயலில் வசிக்கும் இரு ஆண்களுடன் தொடர்பு கொண்டிருப்பதாக கேள்வியுற்றதைத் தொடர்ந்து, அதனால் தனது கௌரவத்திற்கு பங்கம் விளைவிப்பதாக கருதிய நிலையில் தனது 6 மகள்களையும் சுட்டுக் கொன்றுள்ளார்.
தனது மகள்களை தன்னுடைய அறைக்கு வரவழைத்த முபாசீர் தனது மனைவி உள்ளிட்டோர் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்த வேளையிலேயே அவர்களை சுட்டுக் கொன்றுள்ளார்.
இச்சம்பவமானது அங்குள்ளவர்களை அதிர்ச்சியில் ஆழ்த்தியுள்ளதுடன், முபாசீரின் மனைவி புகார் கொடுத்ததைத் தொடர்ந்து அவரைப் பொலிஸார் கைது செய்துள்ளனர்.
முபாசீரின் மகள்களில் சமீனா(வயது14), ரஸியா(வயது16) ஆகியோர் அயல்பகுதியில் வசிக்கும் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுடன் தொடர்பு வைத்திருந்ததாகவும், ஏனைய சகோதரிகள் இவர்களின் உறவுக்கு உதவியதாகவும் கேள்வியுற்றதைத் தொடர்ந்தே அவர்களைச் சுட்டுக்கொன்றதாக முபாசீர் பொலிஸாருக்கு தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
40-year-old Arif Mubashir admitted to police that he killed 2 of his teenage daughters, 16 year old Razia and 14 year old Sameena, in Faisalabad because his son told him they were dating older boys in the neighborhood. Mubashir reportedly said he killed the other 4 daughters simply because "they sided with their sisters.The father summoned his daughters to his room and shot them in cold blood while the rest of the family looked on, reported Pakistani newspaper, The Express Tribune.
His wife Musarrat reportedly called the police after the horrific incident.
Mubashir allegedly told police that he didn't regret murdering his daughters and "would do it all again," for he had killed them "in honor."
'Honor killings' which has been banned in many Islamic countries, is an age old custom still practiced by some Muslims societies where it is their belief that killing a relative who has brought shame and disgrace to the family is the 'honorable' thing to do.
Incidentally, it is usually the women and girls who bear the brunt of this barbaric p
